Gaming News Roundup: GTA 6 Leakers' Full-Build Threat, Squadron 42 Dated, Marvel Tokon Year One Fighters & More (Oct 11, 2026)

The GTA 6 leak saga got even weirder this weekend: the Cyberleek group says it'll dump a full build of the game unless Take-Two gives it physical discs and a public apology, and then it posted another clip anyway. Squadron 42 finally has a Steam page and a Q2 2027 window, Marvel Tokon revealed the rest of its Year One fighters, and a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake DLC rumor is making the rounds. Also on Sunday's list: Metro 2039 pre-orders look close, Gran Turismo 7 is still selling better than Polyphony expected, Forza Horizon 6's PS5 disc comes with a catch, and BlazBlue: Central Fiction is coming to PS5. Here's the Lanbrew gaming roundup for October 11, 2026.

Update: GTA 6 leakers threaten a full-game leak unless Take-Two puts out physical discs and apologizes
Earlier this week the Cyberleek group posted 25 minutes of GTA 6 footage. Now it says it'll leak a working build of the game, "full story mode, played to the end, credits and all," if its cryptocurrency hits a $30 million market cap. "Take-Two gets one way out: physical disks and a public apology," the group said. "They can take it at any moment. Or they can gamble that CL is bluffing." The group has claimed its leaks are a protest against Rockstar selling GTA 6 digital pre-orders without a physical version, but it's also been promoting a crypto scheme. It then dropped a new five-minute clip on ResetEra showing a naked Lucia robbing someone at an ATM and botching a rooftop parachute jump. Whoever's playing seems to have access to a dev menu, so the nudity could just be a debug feature. Take-Two has been trying to subpoena Discord to identify the leaker. GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Squadron 42 (image via IGN / Cloud Imperium Games)
Squadron 42 is finally on Steam, aiming for Q2 2027
Cloud Imperium Games put out a new cinematic trailer for Star Citizen's single-player spinoff, opened Steam wishlists and confirmed the full cast: Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, Ben Mendelsohn, Henry Cavill, Andy Serkis, John Rhys-Davies, Jonathan Bailey, Mark Strong and more, all with full performance capture. You play a rookie in the UEE Navy in 2945, with the United Empire of Earth falling apart, and it mixes space combat, ground missions, stealth and quieter moments with your crew. It's been in development for over a decade and has slipped a bunch of times, most recently to Q2 2027. Chris Roberts' reason for that last delay: GTA 6 would have drowned it out.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls (image via Push Square / Arc System Works / PlayStation)
Marvel Tokon's Year One fighters: Jane Foster's Thor, Venom and Jubilee
Arc System Works filled out the rest of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' Year One roster. After Phoenix Cyclops on November 2, you'll get Thor (Jane Foster) in winter 2027, Venom plus a new Klyntar stage (the symbiote planet) in spring 2027, and X-Men's Jubilee in summer 2027. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka says the team went with Phoenix Cyclops because Cyclops has been in so many fighting games that it wanted to show him "in a style that felt different from what players had seen before." The Year One pass costs $35, and it's included in the Deluxe and Ultimate editions.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake (image via TheGamer / Capcom)
Rumor: the Resident Evil Code Veronica remake is getting Separate Ways-style story DLC
Leaker Dusk Golem says Capcom has one story DLC planned for Resident Evil Requiem and one for the Veronica remake, both "a few hours long up the alley of Separate Ways & Shadow of Rose." They also say M-Two (the RE3 Remake and Separate Ways studio) is leading Requiem's DLC. That'd be new territory for Capcom's remakes. Separate Ways is the only story DLC any of them has gotten so far, and that's because it was part of the original RE4. Dusk Golem has a mixed track record but got some big ones right, like Requiem starting out as an online multiplayer game. Treat it as a rumor until Capcom says something.

Metro 2039 (image via Insider Gaming / 4A Games / Deep Silver)
Metro 2039 pre-orders reportedly open this week, and edition prices leaked
The official Metro account already said pre-orders go live this week, and Dealabs' billbil-kun says they'll open no later than October 14, most likely October 13. He lists three editions: Day One at €69.99, Deluxe at €109.99, and a €299.99 Collector's Edition that adds a wearable replica Spartan helmet. All three are expected to get physical releases (code-in-a-box on PC). Metro 2039 launches February 4 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and Insider Gaming says it's close to two million wishlists.

Gran Turismo 7 (image via Push Square / Polyphony Digital)
Gran Turismo 7 is still selling well, and Polyphony didn't see that coming
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi told Traxion: "Gran Turismo 7 is still continuing to sell very well, but we had not expected this from the beginning. We continue to provide additional content and game modes because there is this user base that is still continuing to grow." The game is closing in on its fifth anniversary and has never been on PS Plus, so all of that comes from people buying it. Phase one of the big Spec 4 update arrives next week with six new cars and the Sportsland Sugo circuit, and more is coming in December.

Forza Horizon 6 (image via Push Square / Playground Games)
Forza Horizon 6 is getting a PS5 disc, but you'll still need to download it
"Is there going to be a physical release?" Playground asked on social media. "Yes!" The catch is that, like most Xbox Game Studios releases, the PS5 box will need a download, and it's unclear how much of the game is actually on the disc. Push Square points out that the game takes up almost 150GB on Xbox Series X|S, while a PS5 disc tops out around 100GB. The PS5 version launches January 26, 2027.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction (image via Push Square / Arc System Works)
BlazBlue: Central Fiction is getting a native PS5 version with rollback netcode, a decade later
Arc System Works is bringing its 2015 fighter to PS5 with rollback netcode, crossplay with the PC version, four new text languages and better training modes. There's no release date yet. It's separate from the new character, Trinity Glassfille, that ASW is also adding to the PS4 version. Arc System Works' US post suggests the PS5 version will be a free upgrade for PS4 owners, but the studio says more info is coming later.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced (image via Insider Gaming / Ubisoft)
A cut Black Flag Resynced post-credits scene would have connected a bunch of Assassin's Creed games
YouTuber Sliderv2 pieced together a scrapped post-credits scene from Black Flag Resynced's files. It's a rough scene, just over a minute long, set in a London tavern five years after Black Flag. Adéwalé is the only one who answers Edward Kenway's call for help, King George I has died (putting it around 1727), and Kenway meets Miko, the British Brotherhood leader Haytham kills at the start of Assassin's Creed III. Insider Gaming says it would have filled the gap between Freedom Cry and Rogue, and maybe set up an expansion. It clearly got cut early, and Resynced shipped in July without it.

Sonic Pico Park (image via Nintendo Life / Sega / TECOPARK)
Sonic Pico Park adds Silver and Blaze and launches November 12 on Switch and Switch 2
Sega showed a new trailer for its Sonic take on TECOPARK's co-op puzzle series at its Sonic 35th anniversary Club Chaos event, and Silver and Blaze are joining Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Cream & Cheese, Big and the Sonic Pico Cat. It supports 2 to 8 players and adds gimmicks from the Sonic games, and it's out November 12 on Switch and Switch 2.

Militsioner (image via Rock Paper Shotgun)
Giant-cop immersive sim Militsioner has a Steam demo out now
Militsioner traps you in a town that's basically an open-air prison, watched over by an enormous policeman (always "HE") whose mood you have to manage while you plan your escape. Rock Paper Shotgun managed to fail the tutorial by refusing to agree to stay put, which it took as a sign that "this is gonna be a good video game." The demo is up on Steam now, and the full game is planned for sometime in 2027.

DroidDeck (image via Dexerto)
Free app DroidDeck runs Steam right on Android phones, no PC needed
DroidDeck showed up on GitHub in late September. It isn't streaming: it runs the actual Steam client on your phone with tools like the ones Valve uses to run Windows games on Steam Deck, and it looks a lot like Deck's interface, performance overlay included. It can also pull in GOG, Epic and Amazon games and install emulators. The catch is that it needs a recent Snapdragon chip (roughly 8 Gen 1 or newer), which leaves out Google's phones and a lot of Samsung models, and it takes about 3GB plus a developer-settings tweak. It isn't affiliated with Valve, and the devs warn there's no official website, so watch out for fake download links.

Pragmata (image via Nintendo Life / Capcom)
Capcom almost made Pragmata "a little bit more horror focused"
Lead producer Masachika Kawata said in an interview last month that early on Capcom was still working out "what type of game" Pragmata would be. "At one point, there was an idea to make something a little bit more horror focused," he said. "This was going to be a new series, a new IP, and so horror, which seems to have a lot in common with Resident Evil, didn't seem like the most compelling use of the new title." Some of that DNA is still in there, like the unsettling human-looking robots.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (image via GamesRadar+ / Naughty Dog)
Ex-Naughty Dog dev thinks we'll one day "marvel" at games like Intergalactic
Matt Radford, a VFX veteran of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4, told Kiwi Talkz that modern blockbusters could end up like old cathedrals, things nobody builds anymore. "We'll look back at some of these - at a game like Intergalactic, at a game like Uncharted 4, The Last of Us 2 - and just see the amount of acting by real by people, by humans, the writing, modeling, sculpting, painting, and we'll marvel at it," he said. He didn't name generative AI directly, but he said "a lot of new technology" could change how many people make games, and that "one day maybe there won't be the ability to spend $600 million or some astronomical figure to make a really cool action game with a good story."
