Paramount is making a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie, with CD Projekt Red co-producing

Deadline broke it and CD Projekt Red confirmed it: a live-action film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe is in development at Paramount Pictures, with Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura attached alongside CDPR. There are no story, cast, writer or director details yet. Update: Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 is officially January 26, alongside its first expansion

Earlier this week the PS5 version was reported to be slipping into 2027. Now Playground Games has made it official with a new trailer: Forza Horizon 6 arrives on PS5 on January 26, 2027, the same day as the game's first major expansion. Premium Edition pre-orders get up to five days of early access, and any PS5 pre-order comes with a pre-tuned Ferrari J50. There are no details yet on what the expansion actually is. The game was previously announced for 2026 on PS5, so it's technically a delay, though it does keep the racer well clear of GTA 6.

Charlie Cox recorded about 40 hours of lines for an unannounced Sega game

Gustave from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is doing games again. At New York Comic Con, Charlie Cox told IGN he's finished recording for a Sega game that "doesn't have a name yet," and that it took around 40 hours. Best part: the team apparently didn't realize he was English until his first day. "All of them went, '...oh, he's English.' They'd hoped, they'd wanted him to be American," Cox said, so he did all 40 hours in an American accent. Sega's announced lineup includes Stranger Than Heaven, Persona 6 and Alien: Isolation 2, but nobody knows yet which project this is.

Hellraiser: Revival

A YouTuber's 190K-subscriber channel was deleted over a censored Hellraiser: Revival video

French creator J0nathan says YouTube permanently banned his channel for a Hellraiser: Revival gameplay video, even though he put black boxes over the nudity in the game's explicit opening. YouTube cited its sex and nudity policy. The video was labeled "Not Made for Kids" but wasn't age-gated. He told IGN he lost 10 years of work and more than 3,000 videos, his first appeal was rejected within minutes, and uncensored footage of the same scene is still up on other channels. He says he's considering an appeal under the EU's DSA and legal action if YouTube won't take another look.

Pearl Abyss exec says Crimson Desert's critics didn't get "a fair chance to explore"

Talking to The Game Business, Pearl Abyss Europe CEO Lybee Park explained why she thinks Crimson Desert landed at 77 on Metacritic while players were much more positive. Her argument: reviewers played a build that wasn't the same as the launch version, and they had limited time, so they mostly followed the main quest while the game's charm is "spread all over our in-game world." She did add that "both parties have fair points, especially the critics." Pearl Abyss has kept patching the game since March and is targeting a Switch 2 version in the first half of next year.

Street Fighter 6 Ryu and Ken

Street Fighter 6's producer says the series might have "died in 10 years" without a reboot

Producer Shuhei Matsumoto says that during the Street Fighter V era, he and director Takayuki Nakayama realized the IP "would probably die in 10 years" if nothing changed. The SFV player base was mostly 35 to 45 years old, and people knew of the scene but weren't actually playing. So for SF6 they acted "as if the current generation doesn't know us," which led to Modern controls, the Battle Hub and World Tour. It worked: Street Fighter 6 passed 7 million sales this summer, and the live-action movie is out October 16.

Resident Evil Requiem Grace

Resident Evil Requiem started out as an online game

In Capcom's Biohazard 30th anniversary fan book, producer Masachika Kawata revealed that director Koshi Nakanishi originally went as far as developing Requiem as an online game. Research partway through development "was not favorable," so the team dropped it and went back to horror. Kawata also said Leon was the first protagonist locked in, but a Leon-only game was too action-heavy for horror to work, which is how Grace came into the picture.

Richard Garriott is taking Ultima back from EA in 2027, for free

Ultima creator Richard Garriott says he'll regain the series' copyrights from EA in 2027 using a US copyright rule that lets original creators reclaim rights after 35 years with no money changing hands. He told YouTuber Jesse Petrilla he notified EA in April, and EA replied that "we know that's the law and we will act accordingly." Garriott says he's in talks about whether to work with EA, and that at minimum he could re-release the old games or make a sequel. "It's been 26 years since a new Ultima."

Yoko Taro says he'd retire, but fear of dementia keeps him working

Asked about new projects at a talk in Tokyo (reported by Denfaminicogamer), the NieR creator said "nothing really" and "I'm done with working." He says he already hit his life goal with his first directing job, Drakengard, and has kept working mostly for income. He's thought about retiring on savings and pension, but worries about developing dementia after retirement, so when work gets hard he tells himself, "This is good for preventing dementia." As IGN notes, this is Yoko Taro, so take it with the usual grain of salt.

POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD REVIEW ROUNDUP

The reviews are in before Pokemon Sword and Shield hits stores this Friday. Overall, if you're a huge Pokemon fan, things are looking pretty good. Larger outlets are claiming that while this installment of the Pokemon franchise doesn't innovate as much as they hoped it would, it is still a lot of fun and vastly expands our options for future Pokemon titles. GHOST RECON BREAKPOINT GETS A QOL UPDATE

That said, and launching today (Nov. 12th), Breakpoint will be receiving a major quality-of-life update that addresses things like stamina, switching firing positions while in cover, and much more. IMPRESSIONS OF THE MANDALORIAN AND ITS ARTWORK (SPOILERS)

The first episode of The Mandalorian has been out for around 24 hours now and we have to say it was amazing! Not only does it perfectly capture why a lot of people fell in love with Star Wars in the first place, but it takes certain story line elements of the franchise in great new directions. Yes, (in typical Star Wars fashion) there were a couple of awkward moments, but overall this new series BLOWS The Last Jedi out of the water and sets a new standard for what all future Star Wars movies and series should aspire to be. Also, If you saw the end credits artwork and thought "I need that," then search no more. Below is a link to where you can download them all: https://imgur.com/a/NCpEVv6   Image credit to Disney.
