When a game get’s a mature rating, it get’s it for a reason. Whether it is because there is sexual content, strong language, or lots ‘o’ violence, THEY AREN’T MADE FOR KIDS.This is what I am thinking. Parents and politicians who keep complaining are just blowing my mind. When did people stop complaining about the content of R rated movies? People stopped complaining when it got harder and harder for kids to get into R rated movies. So what is the difference here? The difference is that parents are buying their kids these games and stores are not carding. Firstly, a parent who purchases a child a video game without checking out the game to make sure it doesn’t have anything bad in it should just quit parenting. I can remember when my mom bought me Duke Nukem 3D. She didn’t look at the back of the box, hadn’t heard of it, and didn’t really care enough to check what I was about to be playing. But guess what, I was watching pixelated stripper tities bouncing all over my screen.

Secondly, how is it the industries fault that retailers aren’t carding? That is like blaming gun companies for killing people.

Basically there are systems and organizations put into place to stop kids from getting games that may have content that they shouldn’t be seeing. The problem lies in retailers and parents following and using these tools to keep their kids ’safe’. The industry doesn’t have anything to do with it. I mean come on, almost every game that comes out of Japan has bouncing boobs and sex scenes…but you don’t hear Jack Thompson complaining about that.

GTA4 is fun as hell. Is it for kids? Hell no, but that doesn’t mean that the game should suffer because retailers are irresponsible and parents need lessons on raising children in America. Good day.

I will never use eBay ever again. The people on there are some of the most ignorant people I have ever come across.

So here is the story. I posted my Xbox 360 Elite on eBay with 3 games for 400.00 dollars. I also posted this item on Facebook, and Craigslist. No one was bidding on the item on eBay, because everyone waits until time is almost up on the item, and it sold on craigslist.

The same day (May 2) that the item sold, I removed it from Facebook. Also, I didn’t want to mess with eBay so I just changed the item title to “ITEM SOLD” and the description to “THIS ITEM IS NOT FOR SALE. DO NOT BID.” I also changed the bid price to .99 (from 400) and the shipping to 1.00. I thought ‘why would people bid on an item that has a title of item sold?’ Oh god I was wrong.

May 3 - The time started running out and I started receiving email after email asking if the item was still up for bid and “what is wrong with the item being sold?” I know it’s a lot for a person to comprehend, but when an item has a title of “ITEM SOLD”, I would usually assume that the item was sold and not for sale.

And then the unthinkable, or from my opinion of eBay users now, the expected, happened. People started having a bid war on eBay for my “ITEM SOLD” item that had a pretty picture of an Xbox Elite from Google. I couldn’t believe it.

But wait, it gets better. I am sure you have come to the logical conclusion of what happens to wars. They come to an end and usually there is someone who is the winner. Well I don’t know if I would call this person a winner, but they did win my item that was “NOT FOR SALE. DO NOT BID.” AND THEN, because I was at work, they sent my pay pal account 111.00 dollars without waiting for a response from me on how stupid they were for bidding on the “ITEM SOLD” item.

That isn’t the end of the story though. I am now, meaning in the time line of the story, sitting there with 107.48 in my pay pal account. Now if you have passed high school then I am sure that you noticed something about that statement. What I have stated means that I had NO money in my account before this money was deposited and there was also some type of fee for the transfer of funds…3.52 to be exact.

So here is where I am now. I sent the person their money back. All 107.48 of it. But am I seriously supposed to be responsible for the ignorance of this person?! Am I seriously supposed to transfer money from my bank account, that is coming out of my pocket because pay pal got the 3.52, to my pay pal to pay this person back for their lack of common sense or perception?!

I say too bad. Kick me off eBay. I really don’t give a shit. I won’t be using it ever again anyway, so what is the point? You know what, the point is that you can list ANYTHING, titled ANYTHING, and people will bid on it if you put it in the right category. EBay, you can keep your sheep. Craigslist, in its simplicity, is a far better service then you could ever dream of offering.

I just ate at probably the best Indian food restaurant that I have ever eaten at. The food, the prices, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch. AND they have belly dancing on Friday nights starting at 8!  It is called Namaste and they have been in Edmond for 2 years now…best part is that it is a well kept secret.  That means family owned and operated, great service, and AMAZING homemade food.

So here is what you need to do. 1. If you live in OKC or Edmond, go to this place…it will rock your socks. 2. Friend them on Myspace if you have it (myspace.com/namasteok .  3.  Go see some belly dancing!
